Hi friends.
There is a special date coming up for me. That is, the 2 year anniversary (March 30th) of dating my wonderful, beautiful, smart, funny girlfriend Leyann.
If you never had the pleasure of meeting her, then what I say here will pale in comparison to actually getting to know her or have met her before. You see, I don't think I could ever capture her in mere words alone. Not even in art, not in a poem or a song. Even my memory of her doesn't compare to actually seeing her. Really... she is like a beautiful sunset in this respect. Have you ever tried to explain to someone the beauty of a sunset, and it never compares to actually seeing one?
Let me tell you, Leyann is one hell of a woman. She's not completely infatuated with herself, she's not ditzy, she's not a drama queen, she's not the Paris Hilton fashion model wannabe you see pratically everywhere these days. I have to say Leyann does not have the characteristics I find appalling in today's typical society view on what a woman should be. Leyann is her own woman. She has her own ideals, her own standards, her own opinions. And she will make them known. I pity anyone that truly pisses her off or crosses her or who she loves. That's just a fact, she would defend what she believes in, but she would never compromise her ideals for popular opinion.
Leyann has a very good heart. She is very kind, loving, and sweet. She might be sarcastic towards you, but she is just joking around. I think that she jokes only with people she knows and likes. She is mostly shy around people she doesn't know, but once she is comfortable... she opens up. Our first meeting over 2 years ago (March 16,2004).. she was pretty shy. She thought I thought she was a loser or something... luckily that wasn't the case for both of us! She's really funny too... she can make people laugh with her quick wit or sarcastic dry humor. I think we compliment each other really well in that regard.
Leyann is my perfect woman. She is everything I love, has all of the qualities I love, no woman on the face of the entire Earth will ever be what Leyann is to me.
This past year, Leyann and I have grown more as a couple. We know each other better, we have done more "first" things (like our first Road Trip), we've watched more stuff, and exposed each other to new ideas and experiences. We have got nerdier, witness to new hobby obsessions (My recent newfound love of collecting props), and we even have worked together (ACEN). We are very like minded when it comes to certain things, but we aren't clones of eachother, we have our own thoughts and we are open to those thoughts, and sometimes make them our own.
I'll wax poetic more tommorow. :)
