Only the best birthday ever: The B4^Q Review

Jul 05, 2005 09:56

First I have to say thank you to everyone who showed up and had fun at my house and wished me a happy birthday. For someone who never really had a birthday party with all of his friends over, this was so worth it. It really shows how amazingly awesome and giving my friends are. Also an extra thank you to Chris, Dan, his friend Amanda, and Malik. Dedicated enough to travel from OUT OF STATE to attend. Thanks.

Saturday was the big day. It was going to be a grand celebration, and little did I know how great the weekend would become. It was a little rough the beginning of the day since my mom always tends to freak out about parties and such, so we had some conflicts on where to set stuff up, where everything was going, why I didn’t buy enough ice... -_- We strung up balloons, opened the gates, I started the grill an hour before the party. Leyann came early to help out and set up all of the food. My family left for my great Aunt's 50th wedding anniversary or something like that, leaving the house pretty much free for the party.

Anne was the first to show up, but this was already past 2:00pm, so I was a little worried about people showing up. But my fears quickly dissipated as Deanna and Dave showed up, followed by Dan and his friend Amanda, Tim K brought fruit, and then soon afterwards came Troppy, Susan, and a surprise, Danae.Food was quickly being devoured and talking was ensuing, then Allanman himself appeared. Unexpectedly (or not) Chris appeared, truly the life of the party. This was soon followed by Viki and Will, then Angie and Malik, and lastly Tony (basic_bee). Hmmm I hope I'm not missing anyone...

I opened my presents, was very surprised, because my chair broke out from under me. There are pictures. My brother entertained everyone; Chris showed off his amazing artwork and almost kidnapped my little brother Matthew. Much geek talking progressed and Dan showed me how to dress in my Kimono (which eventually I had to take off because the knot was getting uncomfortable in my back).

It was getting dark fast, some left like Deanna, Dave, Allanman, and Tony. Everyone else practically flooded into my house. There was much ogling as everyone saw the geek suppository that is my bedroom. I think I impressed quite a few people (and scared a few others); pictures don't really do it justice! The night wore on and the Magna Carta book was drooled over, Angie's FMA obsession was poked fun at, dessert was eaten, Amanda and Dan talking to my Dad and getting a tour of my Dad's Harley and Pontiac. Power Rangers SPD Vol. 1 was watched in its entirety. Chris, Dan, Amanda, and Malik spent the night.

I didn't go to sleep until 3:30am.

Sunday was another great day. In fact I can say birthday extended. My mom made breakfast including scrambled eggs, bacon, cinnamon roles, and juice. Angie came over and picked up Malik for his ride home. The end of breakfast also marked the time Dan and Amanda had to leave, leaving Chris and I to plan the day ahead. That included Leyann coming over and then Anne.

We talked a lot about Dollfies; I was very interested in the topic. It seems not a lot of people, if any, from the modeling community are involved. It’s supply and demand folks and the demand is HIGH.

Anyways we trekked out to Mitsuwa and hung around the bookstore. I got the M-Flo Remix CD, “Astromantic Charm School”, great stuff. We also shopped and got candy, Chris got enough for the apocalypse. We then headed to Wal-Mart so Chris could get CD-Rs for a mass burning of music, videos, and other stuff that Anne had on her computer. We played around in the toy store, Anne was freaked about some of the toys that kids are getting these days (damn you Darth Potato!), then we played for about a half hour at those mechanical arm toy machines. I got a Donkey Kong, Leyann got a yellow patches bear, Anne got a pink hippo, and Chris got… Susan Surrender… only the sluttiest doll in the universe. In Leyann’s car, Chris stripped the doll and made new clothing, there is video.

We ate at Chili’s and Chris used the coasters to further dress Susan Surrender. I think our waitress got a kick out of it. And so did the manager. The food was excellent, thanks Chris. Eventually we got home, and I was exposed to more of PLC while battling some stomach cramps, I think I had too much Coke. There was some commotion with a 18-wheeler tow truck trying to get down my street, so we all eventually went outside. It was a good break from the downloading and burning Chris and Anne were doing. They finished up around 1 in the morning so we took a drive to drop her off, and then headed back. Leyann left since we got home around 2:30am. Chris crashed over at my place again, and the second night in a row I didn’t go to bed until 3:00am.

I woke up around 11:00am, and Chris woke up around 11:30. He got ready to leave and Matt and him played one last around of Mario Party. I gave him some good directions to Anne’s house. I called Leyann and made plans for the day.

It then down poured for a good half hour and just as quickly stopped. My dad got home and was able to watch Matt so I could go to Leyann’s. She showed me her DekaRed Plush progress and we ate pizza buns for dinner while watching a two hour Nanny 911 marathon. We then went with her parents to see the fireworks at Oakbrook mall, Leyann and I going off on our own and seeing the fireworks from the second level of a parking garage. The sound was deafening at some parts, but it was worth the show.

A fitting tribute for the fourth.

So once again thanks for coming out and partying. I’d love to host more things at my place; my parents think you guys are awesome. And really I’m pretty much always open for hang out. I hope the concept of a “Non-Con” catches on, because it’s just fun to hang out without the hecticness of a con, anime club, or Mitsuwa crowds.
