As the title states. I haven't updated since I was in D.C. I'm back, for those of you who hadn't realized it. D.C. was freaking awesome. Business suits everyday, and I saw everything. I've already told most people this, so I won't bore folks with a recap. I also made some cool friends, however. Friends I need to email back, that reminds me…anyways. Guy from Germany who moved to Florida when he was six named Thomas. Guy from California we all called "Padrino" (Godfather in Italian) because of his brown suit and fedora. Guy from New Jersey also named Josh. And those were just my roomates. There was Igor, NJ, Gavin, NJ, Betsy, VT, Lynn, NJ, Sarah, NC, Sarah, NM, Steph, NM, Aaron, NM, Megan, NY I think, Jill, IL, Karina, TX, and Emily and another Megan, dunno their states. There was also a dude from Puerto Rico, Danny. It was so cool to meet these folks, because all of the minute details we take for granted are so drastically and subtley altered, it's insane. Drivers, stop complaining. I almost got beat up by angry girls because we have some of the cheapest gas prices in the nation. Others are at $2.10 and sighing in relief because it's come down. We were at $1.83 and complaining. Driving ages are different, hot dog stands, traffic lights, subways, cabs, house design and location, highway design, trees! The leaves in D.C. actually turn yellow, orange and red! It's not a myth! I found out I have a southern drawl, and because of it and my flannel and blue jeans on casual days, I was named "Tex," "Texas," and "Lone Star." Formal dance the last night, and I was emotional Sunday to see everyone go.
But, man, was I glad to be back in Texas. Make-up work has been stressful, but it's all good now.
I was tapped for NHS while in D.C. and attended the ceremony last night. It was actually pretty boring. Call me crazy, but wouldn't they want to make it fun? After this thing is such an honor that the mayor was there. Why not make us excited to be a part of NHS?
I missed everyone like crazy, but I'm glad to be back.
Besides D.C., my life has been fairly uneventful. I'm itching to write some more, but I can't seem to find the time, damnit. I miss my stories.
Tornadoes whirling. Blanco and Hays were under warnings, last I checked, and some of that dandy weather should be headed our way pretty soon. I called my cousin Adam, since he lives right in the path of one of the storms, and Dad because he never turns the TV to anything other than WB. It should be okay.
We got Christmas music. Timpani on Grinch for me again this year. That part was so fun last year, how could I not?
Me and Alanna=2 months as of yesterday. =D
Life is generally good, guys.
