"Celebrate the times, come on."

I just hit forty thousand words on my story. It is officially a novel. I'm so happy about that.
Amy's having a hang-out dealy Saturday at Highland for her birthday. I'm hoping my dad will let me get a one-way form so I can leave Drumline after we perform. Unsportsman-like? Perhaps, but she's my friend. I've got the perfect gift for her, too. Well, maybe not perfect, but I'm proud of it.
I get Alanna time on Friday! Her grandfather's birthday, and she invited me to come along and keep her company. I'm really happy about that, too. Lately, it has seemed odd with Alanna. She seems happier around friends than around me. I suppose some of that is my fault; I should devote more time to her, and intend to start doing that. But, more than that, there has been oddness. I can't put my finger on it, and it's not all on her end, either. For now, I'm going to start devoting more time and thought to her.
I have to write an essay still. Wish me luck.
