[Stalks down the corridor. Disruptor ready. A few knives stashed away in strategic places. Why does he always do this? Give her the slip. It's her job to make sure he doesn't get knifed in the back by his enemies.]

[There's an arm around her waist suddenly that pulls her backwards.]

[She knows who it is and swivels around to slap him, hard. Then kisses him, just as hard. She doesn't even wait to see if he wants it or not.]

At least you're alive. But, don't test me.

[canyonsiniowa]

[He pauses, rubbing the side of his face where she slapped him. Normal occurrence but still. She has a good hand.]

I'm going to take it you haven't noticed, then?

What haven't I noticed? I was too busy trying to track you down before one of the people who want you dead found you.

[canyonsiniowa]

[He pulls her close against him. He lowers his head to whisper in her ear as his blue eyes dart around. And he whispers:]

The emblems of the Empire are gone.

[She inwardly curses at herself for not noticing. Her training has failed her.But she's quick to recover.]

The ion storm is responsible? So, we're not on the same starbase we were before?

My thoughts exactly. I like it when you can keep up.

[He stands up a bit straighter.]

I ran into Bones.

[mirror_dax]

Bones? Is he dead now?

[There's a glint in her eye. It's hard to tell if she's hoping for a yes or a no.]

For once he didn't wave anything in my face except a normal hypospray.

[mirror_dax]

[She considers this.]

That doesn't sound like Bones. He didn't try to kill you? At least once?

[canyonsiniowa]

Not once.

[mirror_dax]

Then he's not the Bones we know. Or he's been weakened in some way. Or trying to lull you into a sense of complacency.

Let's go interrogate him.

[She grins at him, clearly excited by the idea.]

I just left the Sickbay. I think it's best for now to stake out where we are. I certainly didn't wake up in the quarters I've been assigned to.

[He gives her a grin, bumping his nose against hers. A slight purr comes out.]
