Naomi looked up at the unfamiliar face, admittedly feeling a little more nervous now than before. It was one thing turning up somewhere she didn't know, but with people she didn't know?

Still, she looked starfleet. Even if... wait, that design was different? Was she on Earth? Or at the very least, the Alpha quadrant?

"I'm very lost." She paused. "Is my Mom here? Samantha Wildman? She's an ensign."

*She purses her lips, crouching down to Naomi's level.* I don't think I know anyone with that name. But if she's here, we'll find her, okay? You're on a starbase now, and there are a bunch of us who came here, and we don't know how, either. She watched this woman carefully, trying to remember everything she'd ever read about first contact. Nothing there said to run away screaming, so she had to be brave. She nodded slowly, accepting what she said - for now.
