[ the only thing uhura's upset about is that with all the running around and emotional complications, she hadn't thought of this earlier. very little progress is being made inside the starbase - if their escape can't be intrinsic, maybe it can be just the opposite. if the replicators can give them scanners for the medbay and padd's, there's no reason it can't give them the parts for a functioning long-range transmitter.
