Having found out that the Starbase provides holosuites, Dax commandeers one for herself. She programs it with a scenario she's used before on DS9. A tranquil tropical setting with a large natural fresh water swimming pool situated at the end of a fern-strewn path. The pool is big enough to allow for proper exercise laps. The only man-made structure

[Jadzia hears him and swims to the edge of the pool, running a hand through her hair to get it out of her eyes.]

The wonders of holo-technology. Though if you'd like a different scenario, I'd be happy to change the program.

[he looks curious, walking into the room and poking one of the palm leaves]

This is pretty advanced.

[here's me hoping i'm not awkward and that they don't have holo-tech like this in TOS xD]

[he glances over at her, as if expecting to hear that it might have bit him if she hadn't. then he smiles and looks at her like 'oh aren't you clever', turning to face her- arms crossing]

[She leans against the lip of the pool, smirking rather shamelessly] Would I have left the access unrestricted if I didn't want to be?

[SCORE he arches an eyebrow, and crouches down near the edge of the pool, turning the flirt on]

Can I assume you want some company then?

[paradaxical]

[Lets out an unrestrained chuckle, highly amused by his response.]

Oh, good god, that was easy. You really are as bad as they say you are.

[She pushes off and glides backwards in the water.]

The answer is still yes, though.

[he looks a little flustered at first, but he covers it up quickly with a scoff. i'm still cool. he straightens up, eyes the pool. how long has it been since he's been in there. then he smirks]

I don't have anything to swim in.

[Now she could tell him about how the program could generate a swimsuit for him, but...she's enjoying having Jame T. Kirk at a slight disadvantage.]

I wouldn't have thought that would stop you.

[he doesn't really consider it a disadvantage. but he does look at her thoughtfully for a moment, before backing up. he turns his back to her- and starts to strip down to his skivvies.]

[Jadzia unabashedly checks him out from behind, after all, if it had been a woman, and if she'd been Curzon...She has to admit he's in pretty damned good shape. She wonders idly whether he wrestles or engages in other combative sports. It's been a while since she's had a good sparring partner. Except for Benjamin, of course, who's consistently handed her her ass when it comes to wrestling.]

What do you 23rd century people do to keep fit on a starship?

[before joining Starfleet, Kirk might have just tossed his clothes aside without a care. now though, he took the extra few seconds to haphazardly fold his clothes in half and set them on what he could only assume was a bench made out of a boulder. only then did he turn around in his briefs and go to the pool, crouching to sit on the edge and dip his legs in. apparently the water was perfect temperature, and he slid into the liquid]

Depends on whether you like team sports or not.

[Dax circles around him in the water, totally at ease with her environment.]

I'm all for team sports. The more competitive the better.

[he watches her go around, taking a moment to get a feel for the water. then he takes a breath and ducks under the water, eyes close- resurfacing a second later dripping with water]

Maybe we'll have to team up some time then.
