After 2 months of total and complete homesickness, I am back in good old South Georgia.::Happy Dance!:: Only, everything is somehow different! Or is it that I am the one who has changed. Either way, let me offer an example. There is is 327-year-old live oak tree in our town called, "The Big Oak." Now, The Big Oak is the site of my first ever school fieldtrip back in 1991, kindergarten year, not too long after the Berlin Wall fell, not too long before we went to war in the gulf(for the first time). Normally, I think the big old twisted, gnarled, and greying tree is quite magnificent in its glroy and age until today. I was walking underneath it's droopy octopus-like branches, and actually felt afraid. I dont know why. Perhaps it was the wind, blowing in at 15 miles per hour today, that probably made me fearful of those branches. But, the city of Thomasville sheds out a whopping 30,000 a year to keep The Big Oak's limbs on thes metalic support pylons, so, despite 15 mph winds or category 3 hurrican winds, the tree isnt going anywhere, and I felt like a tourist.
Also, I'm bored out of my skins! There is no internet here at home, no cable, no Sims2 to keep me occupied. I clean and do yardwork all day, then read my awesome awesome book before falling asleep at night. So, why am I completely happy with this situation? BECAUSE I'M HOME, DUH!!!
