Note: For barrowjane: All of your prompt-lyrics were fantastic, but I’ve been trying to write something around this particular song for a really long time, and it happened to finally decide to work itself out at your request. Mostly the product of a crappy sort of week, and this plot bunny I’ve been pondering for some time now - mainly, what exactly a relationship between two complicated, commitment-phobic men with semi-dysfunctional pasts might look like without the rose-colored glasses. It does contain gratuitous amounts of drama, romance, angst, sap, brooding, SAP (in case you didn’t get that the first time), and melancholy - so I really hope you don’t mind those too much. Finally, apologies if it seems rushed at points - this was originally much shorter, not to mention that it was also meant to be something much different. It... got away from me (surprise, surprise).
