On my way out earlier this evening, it began snowing. The soft, drifting kind that sticks but not for too long. The wind had picked up when I was about halfway to my destination. Where Grove is the cross-street and I turn onto Whitney. (I'd first noticed the flakes while on what I believe might've been Wall St., I no longer remember, but it was right past an entrance to the Sterling Memorial Library that I'd used for work back in 2007 as part of a college job) By the time I got to where I was going, the wind was howling and the snow was swirling. I came back outside after to a light dusting. Patches of sidewalk were wet where the stuff had already melted. But when I came back to the apartment, my beard was wet too. And I was smiling.
