Mean Things: Self-interrogation of one's love for boxing and for writing about it.
Reason for Stopping: Ran out of steam, and I know where the next scene happens and will go (reasonably well), so I figure now's as good a time as any to watch that Directors' Roundtable (early Oscar featurette, it seems) over some General Tso's.
Notes: The great thing about writing semi-autobiographical material is that I can have characters live out all the questions I've been asking myself ever, especially over the past few years. They're separate from me, certainly, but they share enough of me that seeing those thoughts and concerns and preoccupations articulated on the page has both concretized them in my mind and presented the illusion that they are shared by someone else, which is solace of a sort.
