wall galore

Jan 10, 2007 01:08

There's this place that I purposely walk by every Monday and Tuesday after work, just to see how the wall transformed from the previous weeks. It's located on the corner of Spring and Elizabeth. Each week it looks different. At first, about three months ago, it was only the huge wheatpaste of the flower and the big ghostie/white smiley face. Now it has transformed into something really colorful and amazing. It's interesting how everything piles on top of everything else/ hardly see these kind of epic graffiti murals anymore.

Here's a link to what the wall was like before I took these photos this week:

My pictures:

the corner of the building has color coded signs of the terrorist alert system hanging down.

Can you read the windows say?
'BLAH BLAH BLAH'

Typography!!

The following are on the Spring Street side, they include some of the original artwork that was pasted on way before the walls were covered up. Namely the flower, the smiley face, and them arrows. I love the arrows :D

The following were taken a few steps towards the Bowery:

This one's on the Bowery intersecting Spring. This building seems to be abandonned looking ever since I was a kid. Mama G said it looked like the Berlin Wall the other night we walked passed it. Those pictures were taken with my film camera, and they're not developed yet. :T
