I am calm again. After a violent inner struggle on the nature of what is "political," I have come to the conclusion that "political" seems to mean, by and large, "factional" or "nationalistic." "Politics" in my opinion, also refers to any situation of people calculating around each other to achieve a certain end, generally to the exclusion or disadvantage of the ends of the others involved. Thus, a lot of politicking occurs outside any arena traditionally thought "political."
Further, as the UHJ condemns Iran's destruction of Baha'i holy sites, as explicitly Baha'i-inspired groups protect the environment, I think I have a reasonable space for action in a PAGSy sense. Shoghi Effendi did say, after all, that the purpose of a Baha'i life was to promote the unity of mankind. Teaching the Cause is generally regarded as the best tool for that purpose. As for teaching, I think I'll just have to be on good behaviour and answer questions if people ask, since I don't think I'll ever be really comfortable or genuine in a situation I initiate.

In other news, my shoes need some color and I have a red marker.
