Write 30 interesting facts about yourself.
1. I was born a cripple - my legs were twisted inward so that when I eventually walked, I almost tripped over my feet.
2. When I was 13 I got frostbite on my fingers and toes from walking the 2 miles home from school without mittens or gloves in minus zero weather. God touched the heart of the meanest girl at school and she offered me wear her mittens for several blocks until she got home. My fingers and toes may have had to have been amputated were it not for her sudden and uncharacteristic burst of kindness.
3. When I was 15 I had a very severe case of pneumonia. I could hardly breathe, and had to sleep upright for several nights. My lungs got scarred and damaged because of this.
4. 6 days ago, at age 43, i ran my first Half Marathon! It was a chilly, windy day, to boot!
5. I took piano lessons as a child; shortly after I stopped taking lessons from Bettilu, she became an author, published by Moody. I found out at age 41 that the main character in her series of Marty books was based on me!
6. I am an Aspie.
7. I served in the United States Air Force - Air National Guard.
8. I worked in a pillow factory.
9. I worked in a plastics factory, making knobs for appliances and dashboards.
10. I worked in a brake and clutch factory, assembling parts for elevator brakes and large truck brakes and clutches.
11. I used to be obsessed with The Weather Channel, in the early 1990s. As a child, however, I always wanted to know the temperature, and would call the Time and Temperature lady several times a day to find out. She was a recording.
12. I absolutely hate talking on the phone. I hate having conversations on a phone. As a child, I was so terrified of having to answer the phone that I hid in the utility closet when the phone rang.
13. I was a star basketball player in 9th grade.
14. I was a member of an Israeli Dance Team at age 15. We were an ensemble of Christian singers and dancers who ministered to Jews.
15. I love poetry...much of it, at least. E.E. Cummings is a favorite.
16. I almost drowned in the Atlantic Ocean last year. It was terrifying.
17. I was active in a city 4H club as a kid.
18. I've never smoked marijuana.

29. I would like to visit Alaska and get terribly sick there so that a team of sled dogs would have to run me to a hospital from out in the harsh winter wilderness.
