Day 1: I am married, have been for the past twenty years. I met Rick at college in Criminal Investigation class. He thought I was lusting after him, but in reality, my friend and I were smirking about a guy sitting next to Rick who looked exactly like Greg Brady. Rick listened for the prof. to call my name when returning reports. He wrote my name down, then that night called me from his work at the University Police station. I wasn't home, as I was at field training for ROTC. My roommate said someone named "Rick" left a message for me to call him back at the University Police number. I thought it might have something to do with the fact that at that time, I was being investigated for my top secret security clearance in the Air Force. My mom had just informed me that agents had been interviewing neighbors of my childhood home, asking about me. Anyway, I called him back and was disturbed that he sounded like a 40 year old man. "What a weirdo!" I thought. Probably some stalker or a serial rapist or serial killer. He gave some excuse about not having his textbook for some reason (which I saw through right away), and asked if he could meet with me to look over some chapters from my book. Being extremely leery, I told him I would meet him in the dorm's common area, and I made sure my friend came down with me, just in case. My friend and I were sitting there waiting, and he walked in expecting me to get all starry-eyed and trembly. Instead, we ignored him because in actuality I'd never seen him before in my life! He was crushed that he had to introduce himself to me! We hung out and became friends and I broke up with my then-boyfriend, whom I really had lusted after, in order to date Rick. He was hilarious, and that's what I loved about him.
