Thank God House is back. My only appointment tv show. Although thanks to the new time slot, it goes up against Gilmore Girls, which, once it starts, will be my only OTHER appointment tv show. Thank God for VCR's!
But... and here is the really huge GIANT news: I BEAT HOUSE TO THE DIAGNOSIS BY LIKE.... 35 MINUTES! I AM A B4D_4$$!
Seriously, I knew about Von Willebrand's because I used to teach twin girls who had it (and it is insanely rare, in twin girls even more so). And I knew that there was NO way, NONE that kid could've survived digging around in his neck if he had it. Even the nicks on the arm would have caused a major medical crisis. I had to take them to the ER 4 times for bleeding gums... because they would spontaneously start to bleed and wouldn't stop without medical treatment. Death by oozing all your blood out of your gums in an excruciatingly slow trickle, man.
And I had heard about re-absorbed twins before, too, thanks to my lifelong relentless pursuit of medical freakery... and I knew that in those cases, chunks of your body would have different DNA (This one guy that I saw on a documentary was literally two-toned -- half a nice brownish tan color, the other half quite pale, with a jaggedy line where pigment met pigment running dead up the center of his chest)... and that the only way the kid would survive carving up his neck was if his neck and the arm that they nicked twice did not have Von Willebrand's and the only way only part of him could NOT have Von Willebrand's would be the I'm-my-own-twin deal. I have witnesses. I began to outline my Theory (it deserves capital letters, I beat House) to John as soon as they revealed the Von Willebrand's and "mutated" DNA thing.
And, lo and behold, though they led me to believe I was wrong for a minute there, I was RIGHT! Because I am, once again for the record, a B4D4$$!!!!ONE!!!ONETHOUSANDONEHUNDREDELEVEN!!!
