I had an interesting experience with this last night. I love, absolutely love steak and potatoe meals. You know, your typical american meals. I was raised on good old fashioned potatoes, vegetables and steak or chicken or something liek that. However, last night Jake and I went out to eat at "India Palace" on Center street in Provo. I have had indian food before. Ethan and I had indian food for Homecoming my senior year in high school. I remember enjoying myself and the food. However last night was different... we started with drinks and appetizers. They were delicious. Little vegetable pods with red and green sauces that were delightful to the taste. I got a strawberry drink and Jake got a mango drink... it was mixed with yogurt. They were delicious! For the main course we had some potatoe bread, lamb tikki masala and shrimp koo... something. We started to eat, and all of the sudden I didn't feel so hot. It started in my lower back, and moved into my stomach. I felt nauseos, dizzy and like I was going to throw up. I am not sure if it was the indian food that caused it, but it certainly didn't help how I felt.
We left and I laayed down on Jake's bed after taking a tums. I had to do something to feel better. There would be no way that I could drive home in that condition. I told Jake that I really needed a blessing. We went to Bishop Ogden's house, and I was able to recieve one for my health. Jake was able to anoint, and the Bishop performed the blessing. Wow. It was beautiful. I think it was almost more beautiful because my lovely fiance was able to participate. It is such a miracle to recieve a blessing. I felt better very soon afterwards.
Anyways, back to the question of what foods I can live with and what I can't stomach: I have decided that indian food is not my thing. I think that Jake also wasn't as impressed with it. We are going to stick with our favorites of potatoes and steak. :)
