So it becomes pretty clear that I love bright, saturated colors in my icons. Love 'em. Aaand, I haven't updated my icons in months. So! Here goes.
[C] -- poutfaced ==> There's a reason I use the tag #brittaismyhomegirl. I love this girl, as expounded below. I chose the poutface as my icon a while back because I wasn't in a bubbly mood and kind of thought the disappointed face would, with use, translate as LJ neutral? Yup.
[VM] -- ooh to hit the jackpot ==> HER FACE. My favorite part of Veronica Mars is the witty banter, and no one banters like Veronica. Nobody! Here, she looks like the cat that got the cream and the best bon mot.
[%] - tree lines ==> Obligatory username reference icon! It was when I lived in the Inland Northwest that I learned about how trees will only grow below a certain altitude. We were hiking in Oregon, and we kept going higher and higher, and I kept looking out over the mountains and seeing this point at which the trees slowly and reverently stopped. Like guards of some kind of spiritual precipice. I imagined them facing up toward the peak, standing and breathing the thin, crisp air, extending their bows just that tiny bit further, knowing their limits but wanting just to see.
[C] - abed is awesome, check ==> Icon name is self-explanatory! But who else would stay in a psychological trial for DAYS just because someone said that they were friends and needed help? Oh, Abed. You are awesome.
[?] - never mind the sex pistols ==> The thing I love about this Doctor Who icon is that it is simultaneously kind of not a Doctor Who icon, and then also could be emblematic of the whole spectrum of the series. Plus, DALEKS. SEX PISTOLS. What else would a Dalek sing, dude? I WAN-NA DES-TROY THE PAS-SER BY CAUSE I WAN-NA BE AN-AR-CHY!

Community --> So, enduringly, I love Abed. Doesn't matter the time or the season, I'm always going to want to cuddle Abed and watch his brilliance and pop culture references unfold. However, the character of my heart is Britta, in the first 5 episodes of the show. She was badass, unapologetically badass and perceptive and awesome. And then there was this whole fucking debacle where Harmon "started beating up on Britta", and it broke my heart. In my heart of hearts, Britta keeps on demanding more from everyone around her and challenging them to be better people, and, yeah, she can totally be a failbot, but she didn't have to go to where the show took her, okay? She joined the fucking Peace Corps, guys. I just. There is a level of badassery there that I am afraid has been forgotten. So, Britta. :(
Harry Potter --> I haven't spent a lot of time with the original material lately. When I was a kid, I loved Hermione, because, hello mousey, bookish girl with crazy hair who nobody loved (at first). I'll take Over-identification With Fictional Characters for $300, Alex. But! This past summer, when I was re-reading the series, I absolutely fell in love with Harry all over again. Oh, Harry. You sarcastic, disheveled, incredible Gryffindor. I love you so much.
the Social Network --> Okay, this is weird, but I -- I don't have a favorite character in canon? Unless you count the script. The script is my favorite character in the movie. In fandom, I tend to really love Mark. I love what we do with Mark. I feel a lot of emotions for Eisenberg's Mark, because how could you not? He is so skillfully acted. Every time I watch the movies, I feel more pity (like, Homestuck-style pity) for him. I still wouldn't call him a favorite. The Mark of fandom is my favorite character, with his heart that is suddenly so much more visible.
Veronica Mars --> VERONICA, uggghhh, how could anyone not watch this show and not love Veronica? I will always love her. My second loves are Mac (who is Veronica's SEKKRIT GIRLFRIEND OF COURSE) and Veronica's DAD because they have the BEST FATHER-DAUGHTER RELATIONSHIP ON TELEVISION. THE BEST.
