I am in love with the songs of Lenni Jabour, especially one called "Les Fleurs Mecontentes." You can hear it on her website. She played at the Rivoli during one of the Sceam events and was absolutely amazing. It was the first time I've been captivated by a musical performance in a long time. She sings half in French and half in English, a strange blend of Tori Amos and Edith Piaf. I wanted to buy her CD, but sadly, she had run out and was very sweetly apologetic about it. For anyone in Toronto who might be interested, she's playing at the Drake on August 10th.
