Senate hearings are the shiz

I'm reading a running account of the NBN deal for a PolSci paper about the Lozada case, and damn it's so funny. :))
Even funnier than Knocked Up (which I watched last night and it was sooooo... blah)!

I know, I know we shouldn't be laughing at these matters but.. HAHAHA :)) Sheeeeesh. :)

Here are some excerpts:

Defensor-Santiago enumerates more projects which, she says, all did not go through public bidding. She asks him about 35 goats purchased for P700,000. [Lozada said] “Mestizo po yung mga kambing, galing po silang Australia kaya mahal sila.” Defensor-Santiago questions the wisdom behind the purchase of the goats.

Lozada says his participation in the ZTE NBN deal began late September 2006. He says he was given documents and was asked to review them. “The financial basis for the entire financial projection, so many spreadsheets of financial justifications, but what struck me the most was yung basis nila, they took it from a tabloid. They took it from Abante Tonight September 20, 2006 issue. How the heck would a multibillion government project be based on a tabloid?”

Mascarinas says their vehicle went to Pasig while the other vehicle with Lozada in it went all the way to the South Superhighway. “Eh di ba malayo ang Alabang sa Pasig?” asks Biazon. “Yes, your honor. No, your honor,” Mascarinas replies. Biazon, frustrated, says: “Ayoko na ngang magtanong, bahala na kayo diyan.”

Sen. Ramon “Bong” Revilla Jr. asks for the CCTV video from NAIA General Manager Alfonso Cusi be played for the committee. Committee Chairman Cayetano asks for the video to be set up. Revilla continues to ask questions the directions of which are difficult to determine.

Mascarinas says he asked the driver where Lozada wanted to go. Pangilinan asks again: “Kanino mo hinihintay yung instructions mo?” to which Mascarinas said “ None, your honor.” Pangilinan looks down, rubs his forehead, while the gallery starts murmuring.
