Peyton wrapped her arms around Lucas as they got out of his car at the Go-Cart track. His lip had stopped bleeding and aside from the tiny cut on his lip, he bore no sign that he had just been involved in a fistfight. Peyton wished he would smile again though. "You and Lucas are going to have to do a little walk of shame Peyton!" Mouth joked. "Nothing but dust!" He started doing a little pre-victory dance.

"I'm with Mouth." She said grinning at the others though. "We're so going to kick your asses." A few members of the group rolled their eyes at her, but she didn't care. She was here for Mouth, and she was going to make damn sure that he enjoyed himself.
The group broke off into pairs and Rachel and Mouth found themselves in a dark blue car, pulling up toward the starting line. "You ready to win?" She winked at him.

"Thanks Rachel, for being here with me." He smiled. "You're really great." It was almost time for the race to start. It was now or never.
"Rachel?" He said getting up his courage. "Would you, do you want to go out some time? Like a date?" He felt like his heart would explode, it was beating so fast.

She turned to look at him, his brown eyes watching her nervously for an answer. Her stomach turned icy. She wanted to say yes, she really did. But a voice in the back of her mind was stopping her. He wouldn't be asking you this if he knew what you did. He wouldn't even be talking to you. He'll hate you when he finds out. Rachel swallowed and pushed the thoughts aside.
"Okay Mouth," She said with a pretty smile, once again adopting her familiar confidence. "I'll make you a bet. We win this little race, and the answer is yes." The faux traffic light at the starting line had switched from Red to yellow, she turned to grin at him. "And if we lose...the answer is still yes." The light switched from yellow to green and laughing, she slammed her foot down on the accelerator, causing them to shoot forward into the race.

"I like that answer!" He faced the road again. "We're going to win this thing!" He screamed enthusiastically.
This was the best time he had ever had. There was no way anything could ruin this moment.
