She threw out her arms and spread out the white paper tablecloth over the long folding table she and Brooke had dug out of the garage earlier that day. Lucas grinned as Peyton teased him about the lemonade. "Hey you better watch it" A smirk came across his face as he pointed her way. As he heard Chris Keller sorting through the music, he looked over in that direction not exactly happy to see him. Once everyone's attention was towards Chris Keller and his infamous guitar, Lucas put an arm around Peyton as she leaned against his shoulder. "Ohh, live entertainment?" He smirked as he looked over at Peyton, then noticed Jenny running around giggling and having fun. A smile came across hsi face as he soon realized how glad he was to be there rather than working for his mom at the cafe.

"Um, well, I don't know..."

Lucas knew things with Jake would be akward when Peyton was around, but he couldn't help but be happy around her. He felt bad, that was certain, but they were there to have a good time and Lucas was up for trying his best to pretend like things were at least normal.

"Come on Jake, Jenny can even tell you guys what songs to play" A smirk came across his face as he knew Jenny was sure to pick some kid like song, but as long as they were having fun it didn't matter.

Jake reminded Peyton of a deer caught in the headlights as they suggested he play with Chris, and smiled at him before she told Chris to have at it and brought the subject around to food. Her stomach was growling hungrily and she wasn't sure she could wait much longer for Nathan to get there with with burgers. She was the first that moved towards the piles of food at the end of the table. Grabbing some paper plates from the pile she handed them around to her friends. She held Lucas's gaze for a moment as their fingers brushed together when she handed him his plate. She smiled happily, glad to finally have made it here with him. Even if it had been a long long confusing road.

Breaking his stare, she looked down to the food and began to scoop some of the Mac and Cheese onto her plate. "Smells good Hales." She smiled.

Lucas smiled as he watched the other's get food and such. He wasn't too hungry due to just ending his shift at Karens and also, being around Jake when Peyton was near made him not have much of an appetite. When he saw the reaction Peyton had around Jenny and how much Peyton truley loved Jenny, he knew Jake and Jenny would be in Peyton's life for a long time. As he continued watching everyone, his mind wouldn't stop. Although nothing has given him a reason to doubt himself and what he and Peyton had, he began wondering if Jake would really step back and just let him and Peyton be them. He knew there would be a long road and he had to deal with the aftermath of when Peyton talked to Jake about all of it, but he tried to push it all down. Drawing in a deep breath, he put his hands in his pockets and rocked back and fourth, suddenly feeling akward around Brooke and Chris, Jake and Peyton, and everyone. Although he knew he wasn't an outcast with the group, past events have changed how he thinks and feels.

"So how've you been lately?" Lucas looked down at the ground as he then looked up at Brooke who he somehow found himself standing infront of.
