Tegomasu Oneshot [Journey / This road will never end.]
From then on, Masuda recalls, they pretty much get thrown right to the back of whatever land vehicle NEWS has to travel in together (for the sake of Shige’s sanity, Yamapi had said). He’s kind of sad, at first, when he realizes he won’t have much of the view out of the window anymore, that he wouldn’t be able to wind it down and enjoy the wind whenever he felt like it. He wouldn’t be able to press his cheek to the cool, frosty glass when it rained, wouldn’t be able to watch the streetlights as they whirled by like fireflies in the night, leaving blur spots on his irises when he closed his eyes.
But things are different now, he thinks.
Not much has changed, really, when he ponders it carefully. He’s always been with Tegoshi, they’ve been sitting together, side by side, right from the very start. The seating arrangement hasn’t changed much. Their rooming partners haven’t changed either.
Somehow, though, along the way things between NEWS did. But he’s glad for that, for the easy atmosphere between all of them now.
The thing that’s changed the most, he realizes, is the way he sees Tegoshi, how much his partner means to him. And he’s grateful every single waking day for the hand softly holding his, the shoulder he can rest on when he’s tired. And it’s then that Masuda figures out - no, he knows - that he’s fine without his old little secret joys. That he’s fine without the wind; without the rain; without the lights; without the sun; without the rainbows.
He doesn’t need them anymore.
Because when he looks at Tegoshi, when he’s touching him, when he breathes in his presence, Masuda knows he’s found something much, much, more precious.
When he looks at Tegoshi, he sees the world.

ONE THOUSAND APOLOGIES FOR TAKING SO LONG! I'm also really sorry i deviated from the prompt so much!!! It's all written out of order and i hope nothing was too weird... I also made a ton of mistakes with the timeline and i don't know how to fix that so please! Ignore that :D This could also possibly be titled 'An ode to Tegoshi' *laughs*. HAPPY BIRTHDAY TEGONYAN. (I doubt i'd be able to write anything in time for that so this is it!)
