I was floored recently by Hugh Laurie's CD of blues & jazz music Let Them Talk (he sings in an American accent - but how else could you do it really?). I love him as an actor, and now I love him as a pianist, guitarist and singer. That man is SO CLEVER that he instantly gained a very heroic dimension in my mind.
Because nanowrimo is on next month I also started thinking about whether Hugh Laurie would make a good protagonist in a novel - and even further, whether he would be a good hero. Donald Maas writes about going from protagonist to hero and building in qualities that we admire. I admire intelligence. Very much. Hugh Laurie is now right up there on my list of potential mad crushes alongside Sheldon Cooper :D
