It's Sunday, which means that I have already started mourning the passing weekend and dreading Monday. I like my job, but I like relaxing so much more.

Last night was the Halloween party. We went over to Austin Peay to play hide and seek in the center of campus. Jodi and I mainly hid together, her Ann Boleyn and I Jane Austin, and talked while everyone else was darting around. Jodi and I had a really good conversation that got interrupted when we were called down from our hiding tree. I couldn't really run in my costume, not that I would have anyway. I hate being chased. It's Hide and Seek. Not Hide and Seek and then Run Around and Get All Out of Breath. Like Jodi said, we performed our part of the deal, now seek, you seek. Several people left and more showed up, and we went to find food and a place to eat it. I was at this point the only girl left in the group, and, because I haven't been on campus in a while, I had forgotten that,as the only girl in a group, I become a burden past midnight, especially when one in the group is on Housing.

My Jane Austen costume was really comfortable, especially after I suited up to go outside. I had flannel pants under my dress, a sweatshirt on over it, plus long woolen socks and my most broken-in tennis shoes. It was heaven, much better than blue jeans. I wish I could wear long dresses everyday. Why have all these hems tugging at everywhere when clothes can just hang from your shoulders and be done with it? The only downside of that outfit was the way the cat kept attacking it.

Oh yeah... last week we found a cat. On Monday night, when Conwell got home, we had to run an errand. It was pouring rain and freezing cold, and just as we reached the car, we heard a kitten crying. We walked toward the sound, and this little calico cat ran from under a car, soaking wet and dotted with oil, and jumped into Conwell's arms. We took her in the car with us to allow her to dry off, and since it was midnight and too late to do anything else, we brought her home with us. I hung up a sign at the mailboxes, but no one has called so far. She is very sweet and well-behaved, and she has a collar on (but no ID), so I think she probably just slipped out on someone. I need to go down tomorrow and ask the office if anyone has reported her missing, and ask them about keeping her in our apartment a little while to see if she is claimed. I don't want to send her away from the community, because I think her home is here. But apartment checks are Tuesday (to test the fire alarms and extinguishers) and I also don't want to be fined if they find a pet.

She's an awfully nice kitty, though, and, at the risk of becoming attached, we've been calling her Lucy.

My camera's decided to hold hostage the photos on it, otherwise I'd post a picture of her. She's pretty.
