I knitted a baby blanket for charity - started 1/31 & finished 2/25 (Wednesday). It wasn't a difficult pattern, knit in garter stitch on the bias - cast on 5 stitches, increase one stitch each row until it is as big as you want, then decrease one stitch each row until 5 stitches are left and cast off. Also, in the grand scheme of thing, doing a blanket in under a month is not that long. It's just... The dang thing seemed to go on and on and on and on. I like how it turned out, but am glad to have it done. The next baby blanket I make is going to have a stitch pattern - maybe that will make the process not drag as much.
I cast on socks yesterday - doing two at once toe-up on two circulars. I used 'Judy's Magic Cast-On' for the first time and really like how it makes a completely seamless toe. I have little bumps on the left & right edges of the cast on though. I'm hoping I can go back when I'm done and fiddle around to reduce/eliminate them. I'm using the Broadripple pattern from knitty.com (found it on Ravelry) on Cascade Fixation yarn. It is an odd yarn because of the elastic, but I think I'm getting it down. I finished the toes last night & am going to start the feet (in pattern) today. I still haven't decided what type of heel I'm going to use, but I've got a little bit of time to decide. :)
Also, I need to make a chemo hat for charity some time next week (needs to ship by 3/9) & cast on the next baby blanket before March 14th (next project Linus get together). I know what yarns I want to use for both and which pattern for the blanket, I just need to make a decision on the hat pattern.
