I found a new toy on the web, and it's free!
I just ran into
SamePoint and haven't had a chance to explore it much yet; however, it looks interesting. For those of you who don't know, when you do a Google search of the web, you are given the options of searching just blogs, just news items, etc. For that reason, SamePoint may prove to be redundant. On the other hand, it appears to search more than one subset of what Google searches at a time, i.e. not just blogs but other "social" sites. It -is- interesting that Twitter "tweets" appear in their own column to one side of the main citations.
SamePoint, beta -- Social Media Search
"Samepoint is a conversation search engine that lets you see what people are talking about.
Discover, learn and share new web sites and ideas."
http://www.samepoint.com/ Since I'm an LGG member, I suggest going to the site and keying in "
Lost Genre Guild".
If I'm reading this correctly, the results say,
" Social Mentions
Discussion Points Bookmarks Wikis Networks B2B Networks Groups Life Casting MicroBlogs Reviews Podcasts Documents Video Images News Web Showing 43,300 results for lost genre guild "
Next, I threw in, "Seabird Sherry Thompson" and the result read,
940 Total Social Mentions showing 940
Stories from the Inkslingers (home of one of my short stories) = 507 mentions
Frank Creed Flashpoint = 2790
David Wood Dourado = 1010
Terri Main Creative = a whopping 69,800 Whoa!
