my sistas my sistas

This morning on NPR there was an 8-minute segment on forced abortions in China that brought me to tears.  I've been driven so batty over our country's recent ban on "partial birth" abortions that I've done what every good American does in times of great crisis: look the other way, preferably at material goods for purchase on the internet.  However, the wild irony that is one country forcing women into clinics and giving them abortifacient injections against their will that causes them to miscarry babies as far as the ninth month of pregnancy, and another country well forcing their women to deliver babies NO MATTER WHAT, even if they are to be born with their heads inside out and will most likely kill the mother in the process, is ghastly.

I am miserable for all of us today, who do not get a choice in the matter.  This makes me want to rip out my uterus with my hands, so that at least I can declare myself exempt from this circus, but that will not solve the injustices done to other women.  I am sorry, my sisters.
