okay, so it's been awhile

yes yes, I know I haven't updated...and I feel there is some explaining for the peeps still at g'burg....

recently I've been around g'burg alot...basically the deal is that last year all I did was work. I had many weekends with nothing to do but work and I ended up depressed and bored. So I decided this year that I would take any opportunities to leave town as possible (or at the very least go hiking somewhere else). Anywho, I really haven't gone onto campus much this year and here is the situation:

The last time I spent a night on campus was for West Side Story. And to be honest, it felt weird to be chilling with people constantly that had moved on at g'burg with new stories, situations, and people that I had no clue about. Luckily andrew and nancy live in g'burg and they keep having parties which give me a nice excuse to go up and someplace different to crash that isn't on campus. Andrew has even commented on how he stopped going to host provider events after a few months because it was weird to be a single alumni on a campus that was no longer home. I got to the same place, it just took a little longer.

Now don't get me wrong, I love seeing everyone that is still at g'burg, but the place isn't my home anymore. I love the town and feel at home there, but staying in a dorm room after being out for two years feels weird. I will still try to get up for shows, but hanging out on campus hasn't been a priority for awhile.

As for this last weekend during indy fest. Yes I was around, and no I didn't get to see any of the shows. The reason was that I wasn't going to g'burg to see indy fest. I went to see my boyfriend and friends and chill away from theatre for alittle. (side note: my boyfriend is David Conrad, he graduated 06 at g'burg and was an ES major, hence most people here probably don't know him, just know I am amazingly happy with him) I knew that I was only going to make it to indy fest if I was going to cut time away from everyone else. So I was a loser and was drawing/play poker most of the afternoon and then having a big irish dinner created by nancy's great cooking skills.

Now having all of us go to midnight madness and stepping foot in servo after years was fun, but it was mostly fun because we were doing it as a big bunch of alumni, not because I was going with a big bunch of seniors and being the only alumni. And thankfully, many people I barely hung out with at college are now becoming great friends because we have a connection through going to g'burg that we exploit, espeically when times are tough. I have no friends here that I hang out with at night, so a few more friends from g'burg is more than welcome....

anyway, back to work and my all-nighter...
