On to this week's ep. "Hate" got the arc moving, and this one throws more balls in the air and has more laughs. It was good to see more of the supporting players, especially The Order of The Triad (hope they get an ep focused on them this season). And the surprise at the very end was perfect - all the seemingly random details instantly slotted into place retrospectively and you said, "Of course!"
This is the first time I noticed that they aren't using the actual names from Jonny Quest this season. I guess the giant banner emblazoned "Action Johnny" was my first clue. I did a little research and no, I'm not crazy: in earlier seasons they did use the Quest names. This year, however, they thought it judicious to (very lightly) file off the serial numbers. I'm surprisingly disappointed.
I think we're getting a shade too much Monarch - is he becoming the Fonz/Urkle of The Venture Brothers? I still love him; it's just a matter of my judgment of the proper ratio of his appearances.
And speaking of characters and their proper number of appearances, isn't it about time we get to see the post-op Hunter? (We saw her unconscious on the operating table, and Brock had a vision of her during a dream quest, but those don't count.) I would love to learn how Brock would react to actually having to make conversation with his old boss now. Awkward!
