(I was about to make a post before we left for the province last Saturday morning, but the power went out. So here's an All-in-One post. Warning. Post is long. It may contain a picspam.)
I remember last year during the All Saint's Day weekend, I was hooked on watching VS Arashi in my sister's laptop. I wasn't an Arashi fan then, I just found the show really entertaining because of the games. Also, by then I was familiar with some of AnS' classic "Tell Me Arashi" moments where each member would try to think of something to say to a girl in various situations and the one called Sakurai (which was the favorite of my sister) would always always fail.
So after that weekend I was pretty much familiar with who's who and found them interesting to watch but not to the point of being a fan. I was into jdramas then, and this gif got me interested in Ryusei no Kizuna.
So I watched episode 1.
And I got baited.
Before I knew it, I was joining Arashi communities, downloading yamada taro monogatari and other dramas Nino was in. Eventually, Arashi shows made me totally fall for all five of them, thus making me what I am now. hahahaha!
Then, imagine my delight when I was figuring out when exactly did I become an Arashi fan. I was looking back at
cheeriola's entry with the gif above and found this comment from me:
(may be small, but the date says Nov. 3rd, 2008!!!!!!)
So there, today also marks the start of my entry into the fandom. Yay!!!! It's been one year!!! Happy Anniversary to Me!!!!
My entry to the fandom also marked the start of the 10th year of Arashi. These past 12 months I have seen them being super busy, both with individual work and with their singles. My sisters and I have wondered what they would have in store for us on their 10th Anniversary. We thought that the AAA in Tokyo 2008 was so awesome it was difficult to do a better concert (which, we learned much later, was proven wrong in the 5x10 Anniversary Concert Tour). We wondered why they released a single every few months during the first half of the year. We wondered if there was going to be a concert for the anniversary. It wasn't until the second half of the year that all the Anniversary news came in. They were to have an All the Best! Album. They were to have an Anniversary Tour. They were composing a song for us fans! They were to perform at Disney Sea! They were to do a collaboration with NTV! They were to release an All the Best! Clips DVD! The list goes on and on. Add that to all the individual work they are doing right now. Everything is just. AMAZING.
Everything was especially for the fans who have supported them from the time they debuted in 1999 (or even from the time they were all Juniors). I even envy the fan club members because they received a gift from Arashi! And they have the chance to have Arashi's limited edition autograph! It can be seen now that everything has been planned ever since last year, or maybe the start of this year. You can really feel Arashi's gratitude to the fans. And for that, I want to express my deepest gratitude.
(ordered from sanban*all three are tied in this place, I just made them do janken to decide which do I post first* to ichiban)
To Oh-chan,
Please do continue being Riida. Although there are times when you do not talk at all in Arashi's shows, I could never imagine Arashi without you. As NIno always says, you have always wanted to quit, but thank you for still being there in Arashi. I guess your message in Kokuritsu has proved that now you have no desire whatsoever to leave. For the tears you've shed that day, thank you.
To Sho-chan,
Please do continue being the Serious/Fail! Sho-chan. I know that you are truly clever, that's why you can do all those things, including showing everyone your fears and failures. You always look after Arashi as the "Shadow Leader" and their "mama" in terms of deciding what to eat. For always showing us all of those silly, serious and clever sides, thank you.
To Jun-kun,
Please do continue being the organizer and planner when it comes to concerts. It amazes me how you can put so much effort in being hands-on by checking every detail in the concert venue. Along with Sho-chan, thank you for being the leaders in thinking of what direction Arashi would take. For being the one who thinks of Arashi the most, thank you.
To Aiba-chan,
Please do continue being the mood-maker of Arashi. You always show us that there is a positive side of things. You are the one who values television the most, the one who led Arashi in wanting to have a TV Program. Now, 10 years later, Congratulations for having earned your most awaited Golden timeslot. For always thinking that you are glad to be in Arashi, thank you.
To Nino,
Please do continue being the tsukkomi and sharp observer. Your witty comments just show how much you watch over the members and these remarks are made out of love. Also, thank you for staying in Arashi, even though at the start you stayed just so it won't inconvenience anyone. Nowadays, in interviews, for always expressing your love for Arashi, thank you.
To Arashi,
Thank you very much for being Arashi. Please continue to be the five bakas whom we all love. Thank you for all your efforts in making us truly happy during your anniversary. From here onwards, I will still be supporting you.
Omedetou Arashi!!!!!!
(caps by me, from the All the Best! Clips DVD. hope you liked it!)
