So, I almost never ever post. But here I am. Because there are just 15 days left until the most important election of our lifetimes. (Though, I admit, so was the Kerry/Bush one four years ago.)
I like Obama's chances. I, as many of you know, am now "confident with reservations."
But, in case you aren't following the electoral college:
You need 270 EVs to win.
Obama has huge leads in all of the states Kerry won in 2004: California, Connecticut, Delaware, Hawaii, Illinois, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Oregon, Pennsylvania (WOOHOO!), Rhode Island, Vermont, Washington, and Wisconsin. That's 252 EVs
He also has huge leads in Bush wins Iowa and New Mexico. That brings it up to 264.
Obama is currently ahead in Colorado, Florida, Ohio, and Virginia to varying degrees. Any single one of these would put him over the top. He's also ahead in Nevada, which added to the balance would bring it to a tie, and then it goes to the House, which will have almost certainly have a strong Dem majority.
Also, North Carolina, Missouri, and even Indiana are considered toss-up states. There is talk of landslide.
So don't forget to VOTE!!!! (Even if you're a jackass!)
