Much Related Reaction post of Epi 9!
Reach for those blankets people, our dear Much is in dire need of our {{{huggle}}}. I've written a reaction post for the latest episode, Much related thoughts posted behind the cut.....
Well, I just watched the latest Robin Hood and episode and really, all through out it I was pretty much in a WTF! Kind of daze.
Let’s just jump in at the deep end shall we:
Kate - Robin - Much : In a nutshell…what the hell? Okay, so it’s been evident for weeks that Kate’s held a steamy torch for Robin, but he’s been so interested in Isabella and making Guy suffer that there’s been no evidence he returned the feelings.
Much on the other hand, and Allan (Who by the way, doesn’t even get a mention in this episode for his attraction to Kate, it seems he doesn’t even matter….perhaps we should start up a Treat Allan Right group for the poor bloke) have both outwardly shown that they like/love/obsess about Kate.
She spurned them, we shrugged and asked her if she realises what opurtunities she’s missing out on. Personally I always wanted her with Allan purely because she really doesn’t deserve to own Much’s heart.
Now all of a sudden, she’s kissing Robin, he’s not really showing any commitment, he sort of tries to bring up Much (but really? Can he honestly say he knows or even cares how much Much cares for Kate?! I mean he’s barely paid the bloke any attention this season, I was beginning to wonder if he remembers they’ve known each other in like, forever), Kate brushes Much’s feelings aside and even ASKS HIM to speak to Robin.
Why not just take a knife to his heart and keep twisting?
I swear I was reaching for mounds of blankets. I wanted to reach through the screen and give him hugs and assure him there are some people who actually do care that his heart had been pulled out from his chest and trod on not only by the woman he loves but by his closest friend.
AND JOHN! Perhaps the first time I’ve ever been angry at John! Because I rely on him to be insightful in his usual Yoda!wise way. He may not speak much, but when he does, I usually agree with his little speeches. But he’s a Robin/Kate shipper! I could batter him with his staff.
And then the scene, the scene we’ve seen a thousand times in Much fics, because really whenever else is the guy going to get a chance to say, I’ve had enough, it’s better I leave than suffer this crap, he reached for his sword, his shield and silently left the camp.
I swear I held my own heart in my hands and half willed Robin to wake up and find him leaving and have a heart to heart with him. But no, instead they all wake up and get a little pissy that Much isn’t present. Care much ANYONE? That someones missing from the camp mysteriously?????
Seriously, I’ve given up hope for any return of the former Robin/Much bro-mance of season one! Ya know, for Kate apparently being so ‘clever’ she has no clue how much suffering she’s causing, plus coming between two friends such as these is a big no no. She didn’t even seem that guilty that Much was leaving, a little teensy bit perhaps when she touched on the subject, but then, ho hum, so Robin, let’s get’s down and dirty.
Oh and another thing - Is there different rules for Kate? Because whenever the rest of the gang disobey his order, he usually has a go at them, but when she disobeys, he doesn’t say a thing.
You know, the thing about this isn’t that Much didn’t get the girl, I never wanted him to have her in the first place and hated the useless pursuit of it. It’s that he’s had his heart broken and nobody seems to notice or care that much. And once more, it’s sort of brushed aside, another episode finished, Much will bounce back, now Kate and Robin, you get jiggy with it and it’ll all be hunky dory next week.
Not to mention, as I said, they didn’t even touch on Allan’s reaction to the developing romance, if you can call it that, of the two. He lost Djaq to Will and now Kate to Robin.
