Summary: Angst piece, Much POV
Author's Notes: This is the first paragraph of a longer piece, but I want to test the waters as it were. And I think it makes a nice short. Please let me know what you think.
He was adrift. Everybody moved around him going about their daily activities. His gaze fixed on the pot on the fire but all he heard was voices from a different time and place, the cries of the wounded, the cries of the warriors with blood lust, and the cries of the broken. He was jerked back to the here and now by a bump to his shoulder. “Sorry Much” cried Djac as she sped past. “Don’t mind me. It not like I’m not doing important work here” he grumbled trying to return to the normalcy of the forest, not let the dark memories invade more than they should. But it was hard, he went back there more frequently, he didn’t know how long it was before he would shatter into a thousand pieces, and more worryingly who he would take with him.
