You never held me like that.
Much sobbed quietly in his bunk. Why oh why did he tell Robin that he didn't need to hear the words 'I love you'? He'd let him do it again. Get away without talking. We never talk. You'd listen to Marian.
He had feelings, ya' know?
Robin listened to Carter's story. Carter could laugh on the wrong side of his face and Robin was there, holding him close.
Carter tried to kill him. Was that the answer? Pull a sword on Robin then cry, tell him how sometimes he hated the things he did, things he said, but that he still could say the words 'I love you'.
Tears soaked the arm Much had used as a pillow. He turned over so he'd have a dry place to rest his head and was startled to see Robin kneeling beside his bunk.
Robin ran his finger along Much's cheek, thumbed away his tears. He climbed into the bunk beside his friend, pulling Much's head against his chest. "You were right, Much. I never held you like that," he said, softly stroking Much's hair.
Much nestled himself into Robin's embrace, his arm flung across his former master's chest.
Robin brushed Much's forehead with a kiss. "I love you, my friend."
