"That's part of your problem” said Allan, “Try longer strokes, firm but gentle. Ain't nothin' worse than too tight a grip; ruins everything."
Will sighed. “I don’t have the knack. And it’s bone dry. Should I get the grease?”
“No," replied Allan, “It’s cheaper and easier to use some spit. If your mouth's dry I could always do it for you."
"No" protested Will, “Besides, I don't even know why I'm doing this. Isn't it a sin?"
"Course not" said Allan, “The church needs icons, we need to paint 'em. Now spit in the paint and get on with it."
