(no subject)
Where does the time go? I swear that just yesterday it was the beginning of the month. How strange.
I just came in a few minutes ago from the garden. I couldn't stay out too long because it's too hot. A little at a time is how I'm doing it. I can't comprehend how the kids can manage to stay outside and run around playing with as hot as it is, but I suppose I did the same thing when I was their age. I'd rather avoid such things now, thank you very much. They do, at least, have a pool out back to have fun in and cool off with.
We spent the last week finishing off school shopping. We had to do it in little spurts since the kids were not at all ready to spend that much time with it. They're trying to eke out whatever is left of summer play, which leads to very short attention spans. And dragging Griffin into the changing room is always a very wild time. We try to avoid that as much as possible, but he outgrew pretty much everything this summer, so we had to make sure that new things fit. He's growing far too quickly.
Even Destiny, who usually loves shopping for clothes, was not very cooperative. She started out being very interested, but then got tired of the entire procedure and kept asking to go somewhere for lunch. We finally agreed to that and just took her back the next day. I think we're finished now, however.
The actually school supplies were easy to deal with. We had lists and knew just what we needed, so we were done with that fairly quickly. I'm very glad for the lists that the schools put out. They're very helpful.
I suppose I should go and deal with a little housework. I'm not at all looking forward to it, but I should take advantage since Sekai is napping now. That won't likely last very long. It usually doesn't these days.
