I'm sitting down, ready to add to my journal (I am so digging this!) and Kev came into the office to pet my head. He seems to like doing that, so I don't discourage him.
It's another gorgeous day in the land of enchantment. I went to WW this a.m. and I lost TWO pounds this week! I am overjoyed. Now I just need to keep up this momentum...including taking those early morning walks that I keep meaning to take.
A little later in the morning, Kev and I took Zuni for a ride to the other side of town where the founders of Three Dog Bakery were doing a book signing. Steve Stucker had made a big deal of it on the news yesterday a.m., so I thought it would be fun. Luckily, there weren't a lot of dogs there and Zuni was pretty cool. Usually she pulls a lot and stays far from the other dogs when we go to Petsmart, but she was friendly with almost every dog that tried to smell her butt. I'm so proud.
Now, I have a Cooking Light recipe baking in the oven: Artichoke Spinach dip. I hope it's yummy. I hope it keeps well in the fridge because the recipe made a lot, but Kev hates pretty much everything that's in it. This will be my lunch. Later, I'm going to bake a Cooking Light pound cake. yum!
Later, also, Kev and I will hit Rowlands Nursery and see what we can spend our store credit on. We need random stuff for the backyard, including some plants/flowers that will attract butterflys, hummingbirds and birds. I'm building a wee sanctuary kind of thing in one corner of the yard (far away from Zuni's run, of course!).
Sometimes I wish we lived in a less built-up area of town still. When we lived in the northeast heights, at the base of the mountain, our apartment looked out at a big xeriscaped area and we always saw quail and roadrunners out there. I love those two birds.
