So steve has a two week trial subscription to gametap, this thing where you can d/l a bunch of random games. this morning we were playing "where in the world is carmen sandiego," the 2002 version. it features two detectives, Jules and this guy, Hawkins, trying to track carmen down. Jules used to be Carmen's....ahem...."partner" and she holds her in the highest esteem. she's never like "god, she's horrible." everything she says is like "she's amazing. she's so smart. so tricky....so......beautiful." okay well she doesn't actually say that. but it's implied. at one point, they're in russia looking at a little stand w/ books on it. jules goes, "War and Peace...one of my favorite books.....................*long dramatic pause*.....Carmen must have loved it, too." as she looks off into the distance longingly. It is the most blatantly gay game I've ever seen. Another time, they're in Japan, and Jules is talking about some Japanese movie, and her partner is like "I haven't seen it....guess I'm not as..... experienced as you are, Jules." seriously, with the emphasis and everything.
"you don't know carmen like I do. she was the best."
at another point, carmen hijacks their signal and sends a message to the two agents, and she's all complimenting Jules, but then she's like "Hawkins, you have no idea what you're doing".....in the sack perhaps? Seriously, the gayest game.
They even have a whole butch/femme thing going on.
I feel like rockapella should come in right now and be like "Carmen Sandiego's........ a lesbiaaaaaan"
ETA:
Steve and I just heard the best quote of all. They're talking to an agent in some country.
Random Agent: Jules! Wow. I haven't seen *you* in awhile...
Jules: Yeah...well...after Carmen left, I needed some time to think...
EXCUSE ME. There is no way to explain that quote away.
