Damned Body

I can't spend a lot of time at my computer right now because I need to encourage my rash to go away, and this isn't the best position for not irritating it. Said rash is a bout of severe allergic eczema, the likes of which I haven't had for a decade or two. First indications of a problem on Tuesday afternoon, woke up with it bad on Wednesday morning, went to the doctor and got frikkin' sedated. No, literally - antihistamine injection, but the sedative effect was so strong that after stopping at the chemist for betnovate and getting back home, I had just enough time to apply the cream and call in sick to work (I mean literally just enough time - my colleague had trouble understanding me because I was slurring) before falling asleep for nine hours. Which is just as well, because apparently antihistamines don't do much at all for post-allergic eczema rash apart from sedate so the itching doesn't bother the victim.

Anyway, I hope I'll be well enough to attend the Houses of the Blooded game tomorrow. I skipped offering my help to a friend who has just moved house because I really don't need to be involved in anything involving sweat and/or dust right now. Random may be wondering why I've been sitting around the house wearing only a pair of boxer shorts - he probably hasn't looked closely enough to note the red rash covering my thighs and upper arms.

I will not be attempting any further yard-work while living in this house, because the nettles in the yard are the most likely allergen to have set this off.

Oh, and for all those who question why I so often don't wear shoes, this is a big part of it. Back in the day, I'd get rashes this bad (but not as extensive) on my feet if I wore shoes too much, and I still don't like to push it.
