space invaders and the case of the repeating lyric

I woke up to the lyric, clearly sung by John Darnielle, "1967, Colt .45..." and I swear it's some song I know backwards and forwards. I was going to say it's obviously not much of a morning song (at least not a surprising one) because I'd just heard "Lovecraft in Brooklyn" and "Dilaudid" the other day, but Google tells me it's from an early song I'm pretty sure I don't know called "Going to Georgia."

Ah, oh, hello. I found it. It's also a line in the Aesop Rock song "Dark Heart News" (a.k.a. "Coffee") which features Darnielle at the end -- brilliantly. Now I wonder (especially having read the lyrics to "Going to Georgia") if there's some traumatic or symbolic gesture in this particular weapon.

Anyway that music video above, unrelated, is good fun.

Today is Stay Home & Write Day. I may treat myself to an early dinner of hot wings. Fuck you for judging me.
