Tonight was Jeff's birthday party. Good times. Lots of people. Basically as I understand it, it broke into three camps: his directors, his fellow actors, and his gaming buddies. Well, and the fourth category, Briana's boys. Which is less racy than it sounds. We played one of the biggest games of Apples to Apples I'd ever been a part of, followed by Hoopla, which is a kind of everyone-on-the-same-team race-against-the-timer-together version of Cranium. Then the party dwindled, Trivial Pursuit came out, and it finally wilted and died.
Fun, though. Some people I had more fun with tonight than I remember having had in the past -- probably more circumstantial than anything else, but nonetheless. Too bad I don't see them more often, maybe. Or not. Who's to say?
Last night was also drinking, but out -- went to a Zak Margolis exhibit and then to dive-bar drinks with Jon and Jess and Andy and his date and Ilana and Melissa and Jamie. Also a lot of fun. Everybody couples up except me, by the way. I'm doing it wrong. One of these days I'm going to be pushed to leave my cave and seek out a mate. Seriously.
In the meantime, I'm going to sit here and lament that I'm too tired (and a little too drunk) to write or edit, and that fiddling with Final Cut at work lessens my desire to come home and do the same, leaving Every Room is Empty in its perpetual holding pattern.
Andy pointed out that we've hit the threshold with RACC where -- with the official notification date of December 15th right around the corner -- we're basically waiting for the bad news. The good news, were it coming, would have come by now. As that's the same date for the Sundance Institute (which I have infinitely less chances at getting good news from), the same threshold applies. Man, that sucks, especially about RACC, who I'd kind of thought wouldn't give me a full-on no. Well, so it goes.
Then I'll have to finish up Open and ERIE and rescore Bathwater on my own, and get them into the world. And then maybe I'll push forward to shoot The World of Missing Persons or the Busker story (Minus, waiting for a better title and possibly the removal of busking), and then features. I guess. I mean, right?
Seriously.
