every room is still empty

Spent about half the day walking up and down Broadway and Lloyd Center in the rain looking for a fucking Type II audio cassette for the PXV camera. Radio Shack, Walgreens, all they have is Type I. I even tried the Dollar Store and Goodwill. I did pick up an old $.99 tape (Rickie Lee Jones, Pirates) so I could record over it and test the camera. The good news? It works, and it sends a live feed out while in record mode without even rolling tape (so no sound conflicts), but it needs a lot of light. Still, it works, and in the way I need it to, so that's something.

Met with Sabra and Jeff. That went well. I made the right choice with casting, so that feels good too.

Problem is, it's hard to see the date for this coming together yet. Every day someone suggests, someone else can't do. It's going to end up just me, Jeff and Sabra, and I'll be doing everything, at this rate. Well, craft services will be cheaper, at least.

Watching Aki Kaurismäki's Ariel and thinking about a tone and story for an old abandoned idea of mine from years back. It's a fourth feature idea I could try to push forward on (the time travel love Story, Minus expanded, the suicide story, and this). I doubt it'll be the next thing I write, but the more my notes are in order for it, the better it'll be when I get around to it.

This is the secret to what my friends call being prolific and what I call notoriously not finishing what I start: keep a million potential ideas in the air at once. If you get stuck on one, just pick up another.

Still, I'm mostly excited about #6, and frustrated as all hell that I don't have the date or my crew pinned down yet. I mean, I have to get gear reserved and I have to rent a freaking camera, and possibly a lens. Grar.

every room is empty, writingland, fuck, aki kaurismaki, time travel, suicide story, busker, inane
