harmless nuclear bombs and the birth of squitterketch

They were testing some new "harmless nuclear bombs" in the atmosphere, and you could see these amazing sort of cartoon-looking colorful mushroom clouds rising on top of each other (a sort of mushroom-cloud totem pole) off in the distance of the night sky and my mother and I stood and watched a moment before I drove off to meet friends. At the corner stop sign, out in the country, Kelly showed up from some bushes and let herself into my car. She seemed really upset but since she was trying to play it off as normal, I didn't say anything about it. I told her I could call my friends and cancel plans if she wanted to hang out.

In a leap of logic, Kelly was gone and Eric Cartman and I were going to some high class restaurant together. Cartman lied our way past the host and got us inside. A band, whose name I forget but whose genre/style I distinctly remember being described as "Squitterketch," was about to play and the waitstaff and busboys were busily rearranging the tables and chairs to all face forward. Cartman and I found some seats in a corner and sat down.

Now I forget what, but I remember watching Cartman on the phone, lying about something else, to get us something for free. I turned to him and said, "You know, you should be the producer on my next film." Weirdly, I added, "I've thought about this before and I'm serious. You'd be great." He didn't seem turned off by the idea but he didn't jump at the chance either.

Then the lights went down and we all turned to face forward as the Squitterketch band was about to play.

And that's all I remember.

south park, dream, squitterketch
