open in transit

Sent out the film today. It will arrive in Seattle tomorrow afternoon. Alpha Cine Labs will process it and mail it back. We will take it to Downstream Digital and they will do an SD telecine for me, probably with window burn, so I can edit offline. When I've got an edit I'm happy with, I will take an EDL back to Downstream and they will color correct from the negative and output in HD for me, at which point I will be able to send gorgeous copies out to every festival that I can think of.

Between postproduction phase one (telecine) and postproduction phase two (color, HD print) I will be applying for RACC and anything else that applies.

If all that went over your head, I'm sorry. This post was just me setting down the simple version of the technical details. All of this costs a lot of money, and affects the overall final quality of the film.

As I just said to Jon: commence waiting anxiety!
