Admit it. It feels good when four people in one night ask you when you're going to finally put them in your next movie. (Hilary, Atticus, Briana, Todd.) Ironically, though I would absolutely love working with any and all of them, the only actor I wrote a part with in mind didn't ask me that tonight. Not that I'd just hand him a role, either.
Man, I gotta get some more shorts made. But my biggest concern right now is quality: I realized earlier today that I've become a bit of a man on a mission, driven by a goal here. I want to get into festivals. I want to get at least two shorts into festivals. Plural. I want credentials, which is a step closer to funding, which is a step closer to feature filmmaking, which is a step closer to real audiences and real stories.
Truth is, although (in my socially awkward way) I love the attention, I want out of the minor leagues.
