The
previous request (which still stands) means, of course, that one year three months after shooting it, and for the first time in probably over six months, I've picked back up the pieces of
Amnesia Hotel. I fixed the few edits, I made a lot of headway with sound, and I made a temp opening-titles sequence over the first half of Michael's dream (originally I conceived it with no titles).
I will have this film in someone's hands by February. I am considering rushing it mostly-done* before I leave and entering it into the Austin Underground Film Festival. If that doesn't happen, Love is Suicide will be submitted instead. That may prove difficult, as I have a slightly tricky assignment from Pam due also before I leave.
But regardless of Austin and Pam Minty, it feels good to put in at least a day's worth of work on my own thing (even though I know I owe the day to some others; if anything came of the weekend's mingling with local filmmakers before the
poison took over, it was a desire to get my fucking work done and show it to people, for reals). No question in me that this will be finished, polished, and on the festival circuit in time for Wendy's Second Event.
A quick once-over of my list of to-do: Closing Time, Too Much Coffee Man, NWFC writing class flyer, LBP final touches, xmas shopping for parents (ha), schedule meeting(s) with Sam and Atticus, and god, I'm sure I'm forgetting lots of other things.
3:13am. Going home to chase sleep. Tomorrow I meet with Trevor, Melissa and others about directing the ad for the school.
* "mostly-done" would mean, sound finished and everything short of the registration-flicker officially "passable" if not perfect.
