The first scream Kyle heard was normal... acceptable even. It was a popular name to be yelled in the Briggs-Emerson household.
But the shouting that continued was a bit odd. It was definitely Travis, and Kyle could hear him yelling from somewhere in the house, so naturally he immediately got up and ran to find out just what the girl had done this time.
"Wingardium leviosa," Kyle chanted, before using a restoring spell. They seemed to be back in order, and he lowered them down on the shelves. "You alright mate?"
"Those are sacred!" he said, his face still red with anger. Travis was used to Amanda's pranks and he took them with grace. He was not one to lose his temper or yell. But this was his passion she was messing with.
"She has gone way too far this time." Travis stood up and tried to take deep breaths to calm down.
"Alright," he said, somewhat soothingly, "I agree. But not like this, we need to plan something epic." He sighed, sitting down on Travis's bed. "Have you noticed my lovely new attire?" Kyle drawled sarcastically. "Compliments of Amanda Briggs. All my clothes were ruined save a few robes I left at school. She must be pretty pissed if she's going this far."
"She had to have help to pull off something involving magic," Travis said, an eye brow rising. He knew that Amanda and Mori had gotten closer but put there relationship on an entirely new level.
Though, when he looked at Kyle, Travis had to laugh. He looked like disaster site.
"Do you think Mori would have helped her set the charm on my books? Because I know she wouldn't have helped tear your wardrobe to pieces."
Kyle furrowed his brow. "No way. Mori knows not to mess with this kind of stuff. Most of their pranks together are harmless shite." He tried to sound convinced, but honestly how was Amanda doing all of this?
"Its not Mori, but who else could she be getting help with?" The thought of Amanda with an older Hogwarts fellow made him want to puke. "She's too young to hang with the 7th years right? How old is she again?" He felt pretty dumb trying to rack his brain.
Travis' expression went blank for a moment. He tried to process the question but nothing came to mind.
"You mean she's no longer twelve?" As her big brother Travis almost refused to see her as anything but a first year. The idea of her with a seventh year made him feel violent.
If Amanda had been listening she would probably have been doubled over in laughter at this point. "I reckon not," he murmured, repulsed. "Should we go find her? Or maybe your mum?"
"Alright, so let's go mess with her stuff?" He shrugged, not usually very good at this kind of thing. But Kyle was sure he could conjure a spell or two for the occasion.
"She'd know we were there, and she'd just attack worse. There has to be a way to get back without her knowing it was us... But that doesn't mean we can't read it."
Of course, Kyle was scared of her too... She had a reach even from Hogwarts.
Kyle got up and started walking towards his sister's room.
With out a word Travis got up and followed Kyle. It was time he put his Gryffindor bravery to good use to execute a plan only a Ravenclaw could come up with. They had to make a good team. Their lives depended on it.
"We could mess with her stuff or just make her think we've messed with it. Make her as paranoid as we are."
"In a pool of piranhas probably," he said as he began to pick up random things and set them back down. For such an angry, evil child, this room sure had a lot of pink and purple in it.
"This doesn't look like Amanda lives here. There must be a secret room or something."
"Maybe she has something hidden!" he realized, looking around. Kyle tried a couple of revealing spells, but those were usually best when he had an exact target. He began testing the walls.
"That would require more magic than any of us is allowed," Travis realized. He pulled a few books off the shelves and found nothing. Then he picked up an empty jewelry box that felt heavy.
"Hey, look at this." Travis opened the box and pulled out his own wand. After two different revealing spells, a false bottom popped off.

"And she has to be a fourth year, right? I was a fifth year when she started. I think."

In truth Travis was a little scared of his sister. At least Kyle had his own apartment. He was stuck under the same roof for a while longer.

The door popped open, and he pushed it slowly open.
"I have no idea where she would keep a diary."
