Family fun at the Maine State Museum

Apr 24, 2009 09:22

This past Wednesday was so rainy and yucky - we were all getting a little stir crazy at home (Mike's on vacation, so he was especially stir crazy!). Spur of the moment, we decided to head up to Augusta to check out the State Capitol and the Maine State Museum, which we had heard was awesome. Well, the rumours were right! For $4, we had a great day!

Checking out a lobsterman display in the history of Maine display.

A replica of a sardine packing company.

Standing in a remnant of the St. Mary.

A replica of a textile mill - very cool!

The BEST sign at the museum! (Yes, I still am part 6th grader and laugh at potty humour!)

What I got to look at the whole day - Nicholas in the Moby, smiling up at me.

We went over to the Capitol building and got to walk around - this is Joseph banging the gavel in the House of Representatives.

It was a great day - I highly recommend checking out the museum! You can't go wrong with it!
